Case stories on comprehensive school wellness policy implementation and gardens in faith based settings, funded by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and developed by Ad Lucem Consulting, were designed to understand policy, systems and environmental (PSE) change strategy implementation aimed at promoting healthy community environments.  The case stories, developed for program planning purposes, describe activities conducted to implement the PSE strategies and identify characteristics of effective implementation. While the case stories drew on the experience in Los Angeles County, the findings can be helpful to the variety of organizations and institutions working on similar strategies in other locations.
